Lexington Bedside or Desk Lamp

When I was little I used to read at night just like I do now but I remember having the coolest thing. I used to have a portable light that I attached to my book so I could read and hide under the covers pretending I was in a tent of course. Now that I’m older the idea of the portable light for my books is cute but not sufficient. The batteries always died too quickly on those. I was desperate to find a lamp that seemed appropriate for my style and interest.

I came across The Ott- Lite Lexington Bedside/Desk lamp. It has been great for my reading because it uses a non glare light. It also produces natural light resembling daylight. Daylight is healthier to be under and is easy on the eyes. I spend hours reading over the weekends and my eyes never strain like they used to. I can really tell a difference. The combination of glare reduction and natural light increase colors and detail making it so easy for me to get through long readings I’m obligated to do for work, unlike my pleasure readings on the weekends.

The Lexington lamp does use a specific light bulb. It takes a 13 Watt Plug-in Swirl but I noticed they sell the Plug in Swirl at thelitesource.com. I still have my original bulb. It’s supposed to shine for up to 10,000 hours. I bought another one to keep by my bed because I noticed it made it easier to read at night due to the natural lighting. I’m big on interior decorating and am pleased with the way the lamps look. They look elegant and professional. They each have a marbleized shade and the bases are Mocha Pearl which I love but they can also be bought in an antique nickel color. They are adjustable so the light can be directed toward specific areas giving you even more detail.

Recently, I have discovered I have more time on my hands and I have been fortunate enough to throw myself back into old hobbies like scrap booking. About six months ago I purchased a new lamp because a friend told me I would notice a huge difference in my work if I bought a lamp specific to crafts. The idea sounded kind of ridiculous. Light is light, it either shines or it doesn’t and then its time for a new light bulb. Despite my hesitance, I did a little research and ended up buying the Ott-Lite Task Lamp. I guess I figured a new lamp would add style to my room if nothing else. I plugged the lamp in right beside my bed and ever since I keep patting myself on the back for buying the thing.

The Task lamp has been great for my projects because it illuminates with a natural light which is easy on the eyes. It is portable so I can travel with it when I go to a friend’s house or on vacation. The illuminated light increases colors making it so easy for me to distinguish between simple things like printed photos and the ones I picked up at CVS. I have also noticed it is easier to select adhesives for my projects because without the glare, I know which ones dry faster eliminating pages from sticking together and what not.

I love that the Ott-Lite Task Lamp is portable because I enjoy spreading my pictures, scissors, glue, stickers and everything else across my living room floor in order to have optimal space. The portable light is able to shine in every direction and I can move it to shine at any object no matter how dispersed they all are. The most amazing quality of the Task lamp is its ability to bend and retract. This not only allows me to change the way the light hits a certain picture or object but I can control how much light I want to shine on a photo.

My husband and I just got through redecorating our house. Our two sons are both in College now so we had some extra space and some remodeling to do. Our dining room isn’t very big so I thought I would bring in some mirrors and extra lighting in hopes of making the room appear larger. I came across the most beautiful floor lamp! The Lexington Floor Lamp is the perfect accessory for any room.

It is made with the most amazing lighting techniques and it’s gorgeous. It is low glare so it is perfect in the living because I can read and my husband can watch television at the same time. The best part about that is I don’t hear him complain! There is never a glare on the TV and it makes my reading process more relaxed. The light used is natural, resembling daylight so it is tolerable to be under for long periods of time.

After I bought the first lamp, I ended up purchasing four more. The lamp has a European design and is topped off with a marbleized shade. In addition to its sophisticated style, the light head is created for easy movement, controlling the direction of light at the owner’s convenience. I especially love the color and design of the lamp. It is adjustable in height ranging from 46-66 inches. I keep one in the foyer at ultimate height and one in the office at just 46 inches. Philatelist (stamp expert), Andrew Pierce of Pierce, Flynn and Delany (Rare Stamp Appraisers), works extensive hours analyzing rare stamps for their authenticity, and organizing their sales for auction houses. “I work long hours,” says Pierce, “There is a lot of pressure for me to produce verification documents which guarantee that these stamps are the real thing, so I have to be able to see them under true natural color.
